Chain-link fencing is made up of interlocking steel wires, galvanized to resist rust and deterioration. This type of fencing is used for many applications, including playgrounds, backyards, industrial areas, sports fields, airports, and more. It’s easy to see why chain-link fencing is the best-selling fencing system in the world. But that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the right fencing solution for you. If you’re looking for a privacy fence that shields you from the view of passersby or a more elegant appearance, chain-link fencing may not be for you. Our team at 2nd Generation Fencing also provides fencing installation for wrought iron fences, security fences, electric gates, and more.
The number one benefit of chain-link fencing that has homeowners and business owners turning to it time and again is the cost. Chain-link fencing is extremely affordable for its effectiveness, providing strength and durability without a high price tag.
Chain-link fencing is easy and straightforward to install, meaning our skilled team of fencing contractors can get the job done quickly and get out of your hair in no time.
Unlike some other types of fencing, chain-link fencing requires little to no maintenance, lasting many years without any signs of deterioration. The galvanized metal on chain-link fencing resists rust, and pests like termites have no effect on the metal.
Chain-link fences are very effective at protecting children and keeping pets in your yard without completely closing off the sight line beyond the yard.
Chain-link fences now come in a range of styles, allowing you to select the variety that’s right for your yard. Choose from the standard silver steel color or color-coated fences, as well as the thickness and style of the fencing material.
Our team at 2nd Generation Fencing provides affordable, high-quality fencing installation for chain-link fences and other metal fences. We work efficiently and with attention to detail, leaving you with a fencing system that enhances your property and provides protection.
EXPERIENCE THE FENCING THAT BUILT OUR REPUTATION
At 2nd Generation Fencing, we consider chain link fencing to be the Swiss army knife of fencing options. It is budget-friendly, robust, perfect for dog containment and pool enclosures, and serves as a fantastic choice for both residential and commercial properties. When collaborating with our customers, they frequently inquire about the suitability of chain link fencing for their specific needs.
Our FAQ section offers insights on why this versatile fencing type is ideal for a variety of scenarios and is well-suited for those seeking a low-maintenance, pragmatic fencing solution.
Chain-link has four standard components: fabric, framework, fittings,, and gates. What makes the difference is how these elements are combined along with the gauges (thickness of the fencing) and the types of protective coatings. At 2nd Generation Fencing, we offer rust-resistant, galvanized chain link or vinyl-coated chain link fences in 4 ft and 6ft heights.
Framework is the tubular steel frame that the chain link fabric (the woven wire part of the fence) is attached to. It comprises a top rail, line posts, and terminal posts. The posts are set in concrete, and the top rail is attached to the terminal posts and runs through fittings, which are attached to the line posts. This creates the frame that supports the fabric.
Fittings are the die-cast aluminum or steel pieces used to assemble chain-link fencing. They hold together the fence line and are used on the terminal posts and the gates. The fittings on gates are especially important because they are the only part of the fence that moves. Anyone who’s used a poorly installed chain-link fence gate that needed to be lifted and pushed to open and close knows why proper fittings make a big difference.
For residential chain link fencing, the two most common types of gates are single-walk and double-drive. Single-walk gates are generally for people to walk through and are always the same height as the fence. These gates are single panels hinged from one terminal post and latched to another. Double-drive gates are made up of two panels that lock in the center of the opening and can be wide enough for everything from riding lawnmowers to RVs. For commercial properties, several types of sliding gate options can be used in situations where there isn’t adequate room to swing a single or double gate.
This comes down to personal preference. Both types will last for almost the same time with no maintenance; however, the galvanized chain link’s metallic color will eventually fade. Vinyl is also more expensive than galvanized but does hold up slightly better to weather exposure. At 2nd Generation Fencing, we offer high-quality, rust-resistant, galvanized fencing and black vinyl-coated chain links.
2nd Generation Fencing customers opt for chain link fencing because it offers great features and is a fantastic bang for the buck product. Chain link is low maintenance, cost-effective (especially for large lots), and can be combined with other types of fencing to set property boundaries and protect your home or business effectively.
